Twitter app is open to threat of phishing scam

Phishing is a popular tactic used to steal account details. Twitter application is an easy victim to phishing. There is nothing much that can be done when attackers go straight to the service provider to steal data.





It starts out in the form of a direct message or a direct message as in the picture above. It asks the user to click on a link in order to view a picture of them. If it is clicked, the browser is directed to a page that informs the users to sign in again to their account. The user then loses the entrance to their profile no matter if their login details are correct.
