The Emoji On SnapChat Can Ruin Our Day

The Emoji On SnapChat Can Ruin My Day

Some companies just want to watch the world burn. On Monday, the social media pros at Snapchat granted the public a special Snapchat emoji update that might just ruin a few friendships in a very public way — and so far, people have expressed mixed feelings about it.

The new emojis range from adorably pleasant and heartwarming, to downright shade-worthy, and conveniently identify which of your Snapchat buddies are still in the running for “Friend of the Year,” and which ones you should immediately hold an emergency conference with to define the relationship. It’s the fastest way to destroy a bond, guaranteed.

TechCrunch reported Monday that the new update could cause real-life problems and could “guilt [users] about not snapping with certain people anymore” — although to be fair, it could just mean that your cubicle-mate makes really hilarious seven-second videos about pigeons and burning toast, and your sister doesn’t. SnapChat vs SlingShot

Ephemeral or self-destructing messaging apps are the new breed of photo-sharing apps that have caught the fancy of users and developers.

Snapchat's rival SlingShot launched by facebook that works in a similar fashion, and its challeged to the original one. Snapchat is very straightforward to use. You can send snaps to anyone on your contacts list who has installed the app. The receiver can view a photo or video for a set amount of time before it deletes itself.
Slingshot is slightly more complicated than that. Sending or ‘slinging’ a photo is easy but, to view the photo you’ve sent, the receiver will have to click a photo and sling it back to you. It also demands a reaction from the receiver every time you send a photo, which we think is quite annoying.
With Snapchat, you get notified if the receiver saves a snapshot of your photo. Though not absolutely secure, it’s better than not knowing at all. Slingshot, does not send you any notification of the receiver saving your photo. This makes it less safe in comparison with Snapchat.
If you’re looking for an app that makes it easy to send mass updates to your entire contacts list, or looking for an app that can ‘force’ your friends to chat back at you, it seems likely that Slingshot will appeal to you more than Snapchat will…assuming that all your friends adopt the Slingshot app right away. The fact that pictures and videos self-destruct is more of a practicality than anything.
Overall, Snapchat is still the better offering. Though both apps claim to do the same thing, Snapchat is a lot more refined and easy to use.

Privacy Issue Arised on SnapChat

Snapchat's central feature promised users that they could send images and videos that disappear forever after the sender-designated time period expired. According to the complaint, these claims were false. The complaint also alleged that the app tracked and transmitted some users' location information and collected data from their address books without their consent.

1. Recipients may have saved your images
Recipients of your Snapchat messages could also use their devices' screenshot capabilities to capture     an image of a snap while it appeared on their screens
2. Recipients may have saved your videos
Until October 2013, recipients could connect their mobile devices to a computer and use file browsing     tools to locate and save video files you sent them
3. Snapchat may have transmitted your location
While Snapchat's privacy policy says it does not ask for, track, or access any location-specific                 information from your device at any time, those claims are false
4. Snapchat may have collected contact information from your address book
Snapchat's privacy policy claimed that the app collected only your email, phone number, and Facebook   ID to find friends for you to connect with. However, if you're an iOS user and entered your phone             number to find friends,
5. The "Find Friends" feature was not secure
Because Snapchat did not verify users' phone numbers during registration, some consumers complained that they sent images or videos to someone under the false impression that they were communicating with a friend. In reality, these messages were sent to strangers who had registered with phone numbers that did not belong to them.

From Wechat to Webed

Wechat a very popular app from China was introduce to chat with the people around you. But nowadays people are using it for dating purposes. Young generation who used to go to night clubs and cafe just to find new people to hang around with are spending their most of time on smartphones using different dating applications. By just looking at others pictures, people start conversation formally and change the topic for one night stand. Wechat is playing a big role in this. However, Wechat was not introduced for this purpose but the disadvantage of this application is that it has no age limit and it is not compulsory to use your real name and pictures.

As reported in Times in India that one of the girl founds out that her pictures are used on wechat with different name. Which shows that they are alot of fake accounts on Wechat. My purpose to tell this is that if people are using these applications for their own purposes to meet new girls or boys only for sex not for friendship, they can easily be fooled too. So, we should change our thinking and be positive. This app can be used to connect with our family and friends but the misuse of it will destroy the young generation.

Apparently there is an app for GAY, BISEXUAL, AND BI-CURIOUS men out there. It is called Grindr. Grindr is the first gay geosocial app to launch in iTune App Store and has become the largest and most popular gay mobile app community in the world.
The popularity of Grindr or Tinder has helped to promote gay sex and hetero sexual activities and it has definitely contributed to the rise in STDs. Precautions should be always taken to prevent the spread of STDs. Do NOT have unprotected sex. Always wear a CONDOM. Cheers.

Snapchat Hacked? Sexting?

Snapchat has become one of the most buzzed and controversial social media apps available. Teenagers can’t get enough of it. Investors love it. Parents fear it. Hackers are having fun with it.

One major concern with Snapchat is ‘sexting’ and how Snapchat’s users, mainly those who are below the age of eighteen, use the app. According to a study conducted from market research firm Survata in February 2013, it was found that mobile phone users are more likely to use MMS for sexting, rather than Snapchat. Sexting can glamorize and normalize sex in a way that might cause some teenagers to start having sex earlier, or in unhealthy ways. And legally, sexting can possibly be considered sexual harassment--or worse, distributing pornography.

Some teens assume that because video and photo texts or "Snaps" as they are called, disappear in just a few seconds the app is totally harmless. However, photos can be saved as screenshots. This is worrisome for parents because they have no control over what comes across their teenager's screen at any given moment. It also could become fodder for future cyber bullying.

However, SnapChat does has ADVANTAGES:
1.

2. SnapChat seems kind of trivial. You can send picture or video messages to a friend that will self-destruct a few seconds after they're received.

3. An article in The New Yorker makes the point of underlining the benefits of the possible freedom of Snapchat, without the looming worry of being tagged on Facebook. There is an unwritten rule among friends: don’t screenshot and post! I’ve heard rumors there is a way to screenshot without the sender being notified. If this is true, we should all be afraid.

News!!!
On 1st July 2015, marks a pretty big change for Snapchat — you no longer have to press and hold the screen to view a Snap or Story — instead, simply Tap to View!

Pinterest : Potential copyright violation

Pinterest is one of the latest tools and platforms that allows registered users to ‘pin’ things online, just like they’re on the real life bulletin board in the social networking website and mobile application. It is a virtual inspiration board, a bookmarking tool which helps a person to discover and save creative ideas in the social media world. Users are allowed to search for photographs and videos which are based on the discovery and curation of other people’s content, not only the story of their own.
At the same time, Pinterest has been grown rapidly, leading to limitations of successful cases. There is an issue rises among their users about Pinterest skirts copyright laws surging in popularity, they have more responsibility to ensure that the copyright contents doesn’t show up on its site. They even get a lot of feedback from users and media owners, complaining their vague attitudes towards copyright issues due to their current privacy policy is not crystal clear when comes to sharing information. Pinterest should take this seriously and come up with a stringent policy so as to gain users’ reliance by agreeing the terms.

LinkedIn : Privacy and security issues concerns

LinkedIn is one of the most wonderful social networking service mobile applications that is specifically designed for the business community. It is an incredible networking tool which has a huge database of information that helps to connect professionals with others in the same career field and reconnect to their preferable co-workers or employees. Registered members are allowed to post information about their related business or industry interests, which makes this is a powerful tool in recruitment of new employees outside the immediate vicinity and connecting with others inside an industry. However, there is still a major concern when using LinkedIn, which is the privacy and security issues. It will reveal a person’s personal information in the LinkedIn profile such as the information about a person’s daily activity feed or activity broadcasts.
This is not a good scenario of letting everyone to know what an individual is updating on their LinkedIn profiles, also the people they connect with. Hence, some information on this platform have to be kept safely by managing their privacy levels so as to prevent leakage of important information, falling into the wrong hands.
