Twitter has security problems
Hacking is nothing new when it comes to Twitter. What happens for most of the hacking cases is that the pages of some trusted people or pages are hacked and something fake is posted for everyone to believe.
This actually makes people believe the rumours spread and thus the reliability and security is being affected.
