Potential privacy issues on using Facebook Messenger for business purpose

Facebook has announced that the new “Business on Messenger” service will be launched soon. At that time, our online shopping experience will become very convenient as we could just contact company through Messenger from placing an order to tracking shipping information.

However, there are consequences of doing so. It creates a loophole for spamming and promotional messages to come in. Once a company has known your Facebook profile and your contact details, they are able to send you promotional message whenever there is special discount and new item on sale in future.

Moreover, Facebook is able eavesdrop the conversation between you and the company. Facebook can trace the conversation in order to know what you have bought before for advertising purpose. Although Facebook has claimed to prohibit these issues to happen, Facebook might amend the rules in future.

  1. We have found various messengers serving the businesses however when it comes to interoffice communication we find very limited options. People tried to use such options for inter office communications but A professional communication intricacies and quickness limits the use of IM for day to day communication. The complicacy of a professional communication is beyond the capability of a general IM used. I faced these problems and then start using CD messenger 4 years ago. Besides acting as a bridge lines between the communicator this messenger also provide to do list and reminder helps to organize pending tasks. Using Conferencing, I can add entire list or selected users to start conferencing anytime and we can get date and time wise transcripts of conference. Each user status of leaving or joining conference would display on conference window. This service is available at https://www.cdmessenger.com/
